DP (Ages 16-19)
What is the Diploma Programme (DP)?
The DP is a comprehensive learning experience that supports the nature of knowledge, independent research, community understanding and equips 16-19 year-old students with an international, geographical and cultural awareness. The DP inspires students to become intellectual, ethical and culturally aware lifelong learners who study multiple languages, excel academically and have a desire to learn. All DP students engage in high levels of rigor and develop skills to think critically, communicate carefully and learn ethically.
The DP curriculum framework
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum sets out the requirements for study of the DP. The curriculum is made up of the DP core and six subject groups. University Counselor
The university counselor works closely with our DP students to find the most suitable universities for them and the degree of their interest. This entails many meetings and correspondence with all parties; students, parents and the universities.
Her work doesn’t end there, but continues to support the student (whether through consultations, preparation of required documents, assistance with applications…etc.) until the fulfillment of his/her university enrollment.
Each of our students has their own character, exceptional abilities/talents and dreams. The counselor’s trust in each and every student’s potential vitalizes her to support and encourage them to reach their goals.
GPIS aims for its students to walk proudly into the practical world, modelling the IB Learner Profiles’ traits and ways of thinking they learned throughout their educational journey in GPIS and taking action; to make the world a better place.
